Pulmonary Nursing
Pulmonary nursing is a specialized area of nursing that focuses on the care of patients with respiratory illnesses. Pulmonary nurses assess, diagnose, and coordinate care for patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, from chronic diseases like asthma and COPD to acute conditions such as pneumonia and ARDS. Pulmonary nurses use a variety of treatments, including medication, lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, and oxygen therapy, to help patients manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. Pulmonary nurses also play an important role in patient education, helping patients to understand their condition and the treatments available to them. By providing comprehensive care to patients with respiratory illnesses and educating patients about their condition, pulmonary nurses play a critical role in providing improved outcomes for individuals with respiratory diseases.
