Pediatric Neurology
Pediatric neurology is the branch of neurology that focuses on the diagnosis and management of neurological conditions in children, adolescents, and infants. This area of medicine has become increasingly important as a result of advances in neuroscience and improved understanding of the complexities of the developing brain. Pediatric neurologists specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of medical issues such as epilepsy, brain tumors, autism, sleep disorders, developmental delays, movement disorders, cerebral palsy, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and more. They also provide interventions such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, and psycho-social interventions. Pediatric neurology has a fundamental role in providing comprehensive care to children and families affected by neurological conditions, improving quality of life and life expectancy.
