Obstetrical Nursing

Obstetrical nursing is a specialized field of nursing that focuses on the care of pregnant women and their babies before, during, and after childbirth. It is a branch of nursing that requires specialized care and medical knowledge to provide quality care and support to both the mother and baby. Obstetrical nurses provide a wide range of services to optimize pregnancy, labor, and delivery outcomes. They may care for the mother, baby, and family by providing education, guidance, and support before, during, and after the delivery. They also evaluate and monitor labor progress, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform medical interventions if needed. Obstetrical nurses may also provide interventions and support for women who are at risk of preterm labor, preeclampsia, or other complications of pregnancy. Through their specialized care and expertise, obstetrical nurses play a key role in the health and well-being of both mothers and babies.
