Nursing Theories

Nursing theories are organized conceptual frameworks used by nurses to provide a logical structure for the practice of nursing. These theories guide the nurse's decision-making process, helping them to better identify and address the needs of the patient. Nursing theories are important because they provide a structure for nurses to use when structuring nursing care and developing nursing interventions. They also help nurses to better understand the meanings behind patient behaviors and how they influence their health outcomes. Furthermore, nursing theories can provide a basis for further research, enabling nurses to develop evidence-based nursing practice.
