Legislation, Nursing

Legislation is a system of laws that is enforced by a government or governing body, and it is designed to protect people’s rights and ensure public safety. In nursing, legislation has important implications as it can affect how nurses provide care, or how they practice in the workplace. It can set limitations or expectations for nurses in terms of their responsibilities to their patients, or to the public. It can also serve to protect the rights and welfare of nurses, ensuring that they are provided with the necessary resources and support in order to provide safe and effective care. Legislation also serves to guarantee patient safety and public health by setting standards and guidelines for nurse practice. As such, it is important for nurses to stay up to date on legal changes and current regulations in order to ensure they are providing the best care possible.
