Ambulatory Care Nursing
Ambulatory care nursing is a specialized field of nursing that focuses on providing healthcare services to patients outside of a hospital setting. It may include primary care, home health care, urgent care, and preventive care, to name a few. Ambulatory care nurses have a broad understanding of the health care system in order to coordinate care for their patients. They are knowledgeable about medications, treatments, and tests that are available for specific health conditions. Ambulatory care nurses provide patient education, develop care plans, evaluate the effectiveness of care, and collaborate with other health care providers. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, ambulatory care nursing is an increasingly vital aspect of quality care. This specialty of nursing involves providing high-quality patient care in an efficient and cost-effective manner. By utilizing evidence-based practice and engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration, ambulatory care nurses are able to improve patient outcomes and help reduce healthcare costs.
