Prostaglandins
Prostaglandins are a group of naturally occurring, biologically active molecules that are a part of the human body. They are hormones and signaling molecules found within many organs, including the heart, where they play an important role in regulating blood pressure and heart rate. Prostaglandins also act as inflammation mediators, playing a role in the body's response to injury, infection, and illness. In addition to this, prostaglandins are being investigated as potential treatments for a range of conditions such as asthma, arthritis, and cancer.
