Plant Fungal Pathogens
Plant fungal pathogens are fungi that cause disease in plants. They are responsible for a wide range of disorders in crops, ornamentals, trees and shrubs. Many of these diseases may lead to significant crop losses, though some plant fungal pathogens can also be beneficial in some cases. Plant fungal pathogens are very important for both the agricultural and horticultural industries. By understanding the factors that influence the spread of plant fungal diseases, effective strategies can be implemented to minimize crop damage. Proper diagnosis, knowledge of transmission pathways and the use of fungicides and resistant varieties are some of the approaches to manage and contain these pathogens.
