Phialophora Verrucosa
Phialophora verrucosa is an important species of fungus found worldwide. It is a opportunistic pathogen which is known to cause human and animal diseases, particularly in immunocompromised hosts. It has been used in the treatment of various cancers, fungal infections and skin diseases. In addition, Phialophora verrucosa has potential applications in bioremediation of toxic substances as it is able to degrade pollutants such as polychlorinated biphenyls. Its ability to produce bioactive compounds that can be toxic to other organisms has made it a promising candidate for use in medicine, biotechnology and bioremediation.
