Opsonization
Opsonization is a process in which antibodies, or proteins called opsonins, tag a foreign cell, causing it to be recognized and more easily destroyed by the body's immune system. This is a vital process in immune defense, helping to protect the body from foreign pathogens and invaders. Opsonization plays an important role in diseases such as cancer, as it helps the body to recognize and eliminate cancer cells. Opsonization is also used in medical treatments such as chemotherapy and other immunotherapies. In addition, opsonization can be used to help diagnose and treat infections, as well as to facilitate the removal of toxins from the body.
