Leukemia

Leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects both adults and children. It is characterized by an abnormal increase in white blood cells, which affects the body's ability to fight infection. The cause of leukemia is unknown, but it is believed to be associated with certain environmental, genetic, and lifestyle factors. Treatment for leukemia primarily includes chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and targeted therapies. In recent years, advances in treatments such as gene therapies and immunotherapies have improved outcomes for people with leukemia. Leukemia can be a frightening diagnosis, but with the right medical care, many people can live a long and healthy life with the disease.
