Insulitis

Insulitis is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system attacks the insulin-producing cells in the pancreas, resulting in reduced production of insulin and consequently, diabetes. It is believed to be caused by genetic and environmental factors, and is associated with an increased risk of developing type 1 diabetes. Treatments for insulitis range from dietary and lifestyle changes to medications and insulin injections. The importance of identifying and treating insulitis early is crucial, as the long-term effects of diabetes and related complications can be devastating. Early detection and treatment of insulitis may help to reduce the risk of developing type 1 diabetes.
