Immunopathology
Immunopathology is the study of how the immune system reacts to disease and how these reactions influence the progression of the disease. It examines how the body's own response to infection can be beneficial or detrimental to health. It is important in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, particularly autoimmune diseases, allergies, and various forms of cancer. Immunopathologists use laboratory tests such as immunology, histology, and molecular tests to diagnose diseases and guide approaches to treatment. Immunopathology also helps determine the cause of the disease and investigate potential treatments.
