Epidemiology

Epidemiology is a scientific study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states (disease, injury, disability, or health-related behavior) in populations and the application of this knowledge to control health problems. Epidemiology helps identify and quantify risk factors, develop and evaluate effective strategies for prevention and control of diseases, and promote health and well-being. It is also used to determine the cost-effectiveness of health interventions and can inform public health policies to improve the health of populations.
