Dermatopathology

Dermatopathology is the branch of pathology which focuses on the study of the skin and its diseases. It involves the diagnosis and management of skin disorders at the microscopic and molecular levels. Dermatopathology helps to diagnose and inform treatment of common skin diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and acne, as well as rare and complex skin conditions, and helps to detect skin cancer. By examining skin lesions, dermatopathologists can identify the cause of skin diseases, distinguish among different types of skin diseases, and monitor the effectiveness of treatments. Dermatopathology is a critical field in modern medicine, having a major impact on patient diagnosis and management.
