Linkage Mapping

Linkage Mapping is the process of determining the genetic relationships between genes, by discovering which genes are linked together by physical location on a chromosome. Linkage Mapping is used to identify genes that are responsible for genetic diseases or traits, to map the evolution of genomes, and to uncover gene regulatory pathways in organisms. It is an essential tool for medical research and has implications for biotechnology, genomics, and drug development.
