Chromosomal Abnormalities

Chromosomal Abnormalities are changes in the structure or number of chromosomes, which can impact the development of an organism. These abnormalities can lead to mental and physical disabilities, birth defects, and medical conditions. The most common type of chromosomal abnormality is Down Syndrome, but there are many other types including Turner Syndrome, Klinefelter Syndrome and Trisomy. Treatment for chromosomal abnormalities varies depending on the severity and can include medication, surgery, and therapies. Early diagnosis and treatments are key to improving quality of life for individuals living with a chromosomal abnormality.
