Play Therapy
Play therapy is a type of psychotherapy used to treat mental and behavioral issues in children. This type of therapy is conducted under the guidance of a certified mental health professional and centers around the use of play and creative activities to help children express themselves in a safe and non-threatening environment. Through play, children are able to express feelings such as fear, anxiety, and sadness, as well as develop confidence, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. Play therapy has been found to be an effective treatment for a variety of childhood issues including anxiety, trauma, depression, learning and behavior difficulties, and even divorce. It can help children understand and cope with difficult life experiences, and ultimately lead to better psychological, social, and academic functioning.
