Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a practice that involves focusing one's attention on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. It is a state of conscious awareness, and it emphasizes self-awareness and self-regulation. Mindfulness can be applied to both everyday life and to a variety of therapeutic contexts. Research has shown that mindfulness can reduce stress, improve mental health, and can be used as a tool to manage chronic pain and illness. It has also been found to boost cognitive functioning, creating a greater capacity to focus and concentrate. Moreover, mindfulness increases our ability to regulate emotions, which can result in improved relationships with others.
