Art Therapy
Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy used to facilitate healing and support personal growth of individuals through the creative process of art making. The goal of art therapy is to help individuals explore their feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behaviour and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, and achieve insight. Art therapy uses a wide variety of art mediums, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and music, to express emotions and communicate more effectively. Art therapy is frequently used to treat anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and other emotional issues. It is also used in rehabilitation programs and medical facilities with an emphasis on the health benefits and importance of creative expression in promoting emotional and physical well-being.
