Cone Biopsy

A cone biopsy is a type of surgery used to diagnose and treat precancerous and cancerous cells in the cervix. It is a relatively simple procedure that involves the removal of a cone-shaped piece of tissue from the cervix. The removed tissue is then analyzed in a laboratory to determine the presence of abnormal cells. This procedure is important as it can help doctors to diagnose and identify abnormal cells early on, improving the chances of successfully treating the condition. It can also be used to effectively remove precancerous and cancerous lesions in the cervix, directly reducing the risk of cervical cancer.
