Abnormal Pap Test
A Pap test, also known as a Pap smear, is a screening test for cervical cancer. An abnormal Pap test result indicates the presence of abnormal cells on the cervix. These abnormal cells can be caused by HPV (human papillomavirus) and can be precancerous or cancerous. A Pap test is an important tool for detecting cervical cancer at an early stage, which is essential for effective treatment. Early detection and treatment of cervical cancer can improve the prognosis of cervical cancer patients and reduce the mortality rate. Therefore, all women are advised to undergo a regular Pap test to detect any abnormalities.
