Carbohydrate-based Vaccines
Carbohydrate-based vaccines are a type of vaccine designed to protect against a range of infectious diseases and are being increasingly researched and studied in the medical field. These vaccines use purified carbohydrates, derived from a target bacteria or virus, to activate an immune response in the body, which would then protect against an infection. Such vaccines are an attractive option for use against a range of diseases, as carbohydrates are widely available and cost-effective, and can provide immunological protection without the use of viral or bacterial antigens. Carbohydrate-based vaccines are rapidly gaining traction as an effective method of vaccine delivery and development, and as such, their applications and uses are increasing in the medical industry.
