Mouth Cancers (oral Cancers)
Mouth cancer, also known as oral cancer, is an abnormal growth of tissues in the mouth or throat. It is dangerous because it can spread to other parts of the body if not caught early enough. Smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, and exposure to the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) are the main risk factors for developing cancer in the mouth. Symptoms include sores that don't heal, difficulty swallowing, lumps in the neck, and unexplained bleeding in the mouth. Early diagnosis is key to successful treatment, which often involves surgery, radiation, and/or chemotherapy. Mouth cancer is a serious condition and should not be taken lightly. With early diagnosis and proper treatment, survival is possible.
