Breast Self-Examination
Breast self examination (BSE) is an important part of women's healthcare. By performing regular self-examinations, women can detect abnormalities and changes in the breasts which can help to detect the early stages of breast cancer. BSE involves feeling and looking for changes in the breast such as lumps, dimpling of the skin, or changes in the nipple. It is recommended that women perform this monthly, after their menstrual cycle ends. When women are more informed about their bodies, they are more likely to detect any changes and seek medical attention in a timely manner, leading to increased chances of successful treatment.
