Breast Reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is a specialized surgical procedure that rebuilds a woman’s breast after partial or total mastectomy due to breast cancer. By reconstructing the breast and restoring its shape the patient is provided a more natural look and feel to the reconstructed breast. The procedure is usually done with the use of implants or flap surgery, during which tissue and skin is transferred from other parts of the body to create a new breast mound. Breast reconstruction can help in restoring body image and self-confidence, improving the quality of life of the patient.
