Bilateral Mastectomy
Bilateral Mastectomy is the surgical removal of both breasts. It is a common procedure used to prevent or treat breast cancer, or to improve body image. During the procedure, tissue and lymph nodes in the area may also be removed. Benefits of this surgery include a reduced risk of recurrence, the ability to reduce body image issues, and the possibility of preventing the spread of cancer. Recovery time varies depending on the individual, but can take weeks or longer.
