Meningioma

Meningioma is a type of brain tumor that originates from the meninges, the membrane that covers the brain and spinal cord. This tumor is usually slow-growing, but it can cause neurological symptoms if it compresses the surrounding brain tissue. Treatment of meningiomas depends on the patient's age and health status, and may include surgery, radiation therapy, or a closely monitored watch and wait approach. Because of the potential risks associated with meningiomas, it is important to diagnose them in a timely manner. Early diagnosis is often aided by the use of imaging techniques, such as MRI or CT scans.
