Epidemiology

Epidemiology is the study of how diseases and other health issues occur both in populations and individual people. It looks at factors such as environmental exposure, genetics, and lifestyle to gain a better understanding of why people get sick, how diseases spread, and how to prevent them. By understanding how diseases spread and how to best prevent them, epidemiologists can then develop effective strategies to protect public health. This information can be used to inform policies that reduce disease prevalence and ultimately improve the overall health of a community.
