Craniopharyngioma
Craniopharyngioma is a rare type of brain tumor that typically originates from the pituitary gland. It is a non-cancerous tumor that can cause damage to the surrounding brain structures, leading to a variety of neurological symptoms. It is typically seen in children but can also occur in adults. Treatment options for craniopharyngioma include surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Surgery is the primary treatment for this tumor and is the only option that can completely remove the tumor. Radiation therapy and chemotherapy can be used to reduce the size of the tumor and minimize its symptoms. Craniopharyngioma is a difficult type of tumor to treat due to its location near vital structures in the brain, but with timely and appropriate treatment, most patients can have a good quality of life.
