Bipolar Affective

Disorder Bipolar Affective Disorder (BAD) is a mental health condition that is characterised by extreme shifts in mood and energy. Its symptoms can range from high, manic episodes, where an individual experiences excessive energy, impulsivity and euphoria, to low, depressive episodes, in which an individual feels sad, apathetic and lacks motivation. BAD can often have a significant impact on social and occupational functioning. Proper diagnosis and treatment is therefore essential for those with the disorder in order to help manage the condition and improve quality of life. Treatment options for BAD include both pharmacological and psychological therapies.
