Radiotherapy for Bone Cancer
Radiotherapy is a medical treatment which uses radiation to destroy cancer cells. It is used to treat a range of cancerous and non-cancerous conditions, including bone cancer. Bone cancer can be treated with a range of treatment approaches, such as chemotherapy and surgery, but radiotherapy offers some unique benefits that can improve a patient's quality of life. It can target tumors in hard-to-reach areas and is less invasive than surgery. Radiotherapy is also used to reduce pain, control the tumor growth and reduce the risk of the cancer returning.
