Bone Infection
Bone infection (osteomyelitis) is a serious condition caused by bacteria that enter the bone. It can affect any bone in the body, but is most commonly seen in the long bones of the arms and legs. Symptoms include fever, chills, pain, redness, swelling, and drainage of pus from the site of the infection. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to prevent serious complications such as joint damage, tissue death, and spreading infection. Treatment typically includes antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and surgery to remove the infected bone tissue. With prompt and proper treatment, bone infection can be cured and its associated complications avoided.
