Aplastic Anemia

Aplastic anemia is a rare and life-threatening condition in which the body does not produce enough new blood cells. It can be acquired (through exposure to toxins or drugs) or inherited. Symptoms include fatigue, shortness of breath, easy bruising, and infections. Treatment usually involves medications and sometimes a bone marrow or stem cell transplant. Aplastic anemia is a serious condition that needs to be diagnosed and treated quickly as it can lead to death if not treated properly. It can be managed with treatments that often improve the quality of life for those affected.
