Tears
Tears are the body’s natural way of keeping the eyes lubricated and healthy. They are a combination of water, oils, mucous, and other substances that contain proteins, enzymes, and antibodies. Tears are essential for good vision, as they act as a protective barrier against foreign particles or irritants. Additionally, they help to keep the surface of the eye moist, which is important for maintaining clarity of vision. Tears also contain emotional chemicals that are released when we feel strong feelings, such as joy or sadness. These tears serve an important purpose- to help us show our emotions, as well as to cleanse and nourish the eyes.
