Smegma

Smegma is a natural, waxy substance that is secreted by the sebaceous glands in both male and female mammals. It can help to lubricate the skin and glands of the genitals, aiding normal sexual function. It also helps to protect the delicate tissue from abrasion and external irritants. Smegma can become a problem if it builds up over time due to inadequate hygiene, leading to an unpleasant odour and inflammation. Regular washing of the genital area with mild soap and water can help to prevent this buildup.
