Semen is a biological fluid that is produced in the male reproductive system, containing sperm cells as well as other components such as proteins, sugars, hormones and enzymes. It is released during ejaculation and plays an important role in reproduction. Semen analysis is an important clinical tool to assess male fertility, helping to identify any deficiencies that could be affecting a couple’s ability to conceive. In addition, semen is also used in the medical field for diagnostic purposes, such as in the detection of sexually transmitted infections. Moreover, semen is also used in research and in the development of new treatments for male fertility issues.
