Physiology of Body Fluids
The physiology of body fluids is a sub-discipline of physiology which studies the composition and functions of the fluids that make up the human body, such as blood, saliva, urine, and lymph. It is an important branch of medical science as it focuses on understanding the role of fluids in maintaining the health of individuals. By studying body fluids, scientists can learn which fluids may be deficient or excessive in certain conditions, and why. Through this information, medical professionals can identify and treat metabolic, cardiovascular, and infectious diseases more effectively. Understanding body fluid physiology is also helpful for developing new treatments to improve health, as well as for researching the effects of drugs and other substances on the body.
