Aqueous Humour

Aqueous humour is a clear, watery fluid that fills the front part of the eye and helps maintain its shape and pressure. It is produced continuously by the ciliary body and is reabsorbed through the trabecular meshwork. This fluid plays an important role in preserving the clarity of the eye’s optics and is vital for proper vision. Additionally, it helps nourish and protect the lens and the cornea. Any disruption in the production and outflow of aqueous humour can cause eye diseases such as glaucoma and increase the risk of vision loss. Treatments to restore the normal levels of aqueous humour in the eye can help improve visual acuity and reduce the risk of vision loss.
