Cardiovascular Complications of Hypertension
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a disease that affects the cardiovascular system, leading to an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and other serious complications. Hypertension can cause constriction of the blood vessels, leading to a high pressure in the blood vessels and a slowed flow of blood through the circulatory system. This can cause damage to the heart, arteries, and other organs, leading to various cardiovascular complications. Hypertension can be managed through lifestyle modifications such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and maintaining a healthy weight. Treatment may also involve medications to control blood pressure, and preventing or managing any underlying conditions that are contributing to the development of hypertension. With proper treatment and management, hypertension can be controlled and the risk of complications can be lowered.
