Rodents

Rodents are the largest taxonomic order of mammals. They are distinguished by their large incisors, which are always exposed and used for gnawing and burrowing. Rodents have a significantly broad range of habitats, allowing them to inhabit nearly all parts of the world. They are a cost-efficient, safe and humane method for controlling and preventing damage to crops, as well as being heavily used in laboratory research. They are important animals in terms of their ecological roles, such as controlling insect populations, dispersing seeds, and aerating and fertilizing the soil. Additionally, some rodent species are also kept as pets.
