Proteins
Proteins are macromolecules that are essential for the functioning of all living organisms. They have a wide range of functions, such as providing structure, carrying molecules, and catalyzing biochemical reactions. Proteins play an important role in healthy development and disease prevention, since they are involved in many metabolic processes, including the digestion and transport of nutrients, the regulation of hormones, and the maintenance of proper pH balance. They can also be used as a source of energy when carbohydrates and fats are not available. Proteins are a major component of the diet and their importance in maintaining good health should not be overlooked.
