Olfactometers
Olfactometers are scientific instruments used to measure the strength or intensity of smells. They are most commonly used to assess the impact of odors on the environment or to detect hazardous gases in industrial settings. Olfactometry has also been used in the food and beverage industry to evaluate the quality and aroma of products. Olfactometers are important tools that help to protect and improve air and water quality, and to ensure the safety of industrial workers and the general public in areas where hazardous gases may be present. They are also used to study the biological responses to odors, helping to understand how the sense of smell works.
