Immunology
Immunology is the science that studies the immune system and its functions in the body. It is a major part of medical science which helps in the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of diseases caused due to a malfunctioning immune system. Most diseases are caused due to the entry of foreign agents like bacteria, viruses, parasites, etc. into the body, which are then neutralized by the immune system. Immunology helps in understanding the body's natural defense mechanisms, discovering and creating drugs and vaccines, and finding treatments for immunological disorders. It is also used to diagnose and treat diseases such as autoimmune diseases, cancer and allergies. Immunology is therefore a crucial field of science as it helps in understanding and treating human diseases.
