Fatty Alcohols

Fatty alcohols are a class of organic compounds composed of a chain of carbon and hydrogen atoms. They can be either saturated or unsaturated, depending on the arrangement of the atoms. Fatty alcohols are important because they are used to produce a wide range of products, including surfactants, lubricants, cosmetics, and solvent. They are also used as active ingredients in pharmaceuticals, such as antifungal agents and for industrial applications, such as plasticizers and antimicrobial agents. Fatty alcohols also provide an essential source of energy for organisms, including humans.
