Biometrics
Biometrics is the use of physical or behavioral characteristics of an individual to identify or authenticate the person. Such characteristics can include fingerprints, retinal scans, facial recognition, voiceprint, and hand geometry. Biometrics is becoming increasingly important for security, due to its ability to provide reliable and secure identity verification. It is used to secure access to high security areas, as well as to control access to bank accounts, electronic funds, computer networks, and other sensitive areas. In addition, biometrics can be used to help identify missing persons and prevent identity theft. As biometric technology advances, its applications and uses will become even more diverse.
