Biosemiotics and Fractals

Biosemiotics is a field of study that explores how living organisms interact with their environment through the use of symbols and signs. Fractals are mathematical objects that possess self-similarity— meaning that any part of a fractal can be used to accurately describe the entire fractal. Combining these two disciplines, biosemiotics and fractals, offers an insight into the complex interactions between organisms and their surroundings which is significant to many aspects of life. It is used to evaluate the behaviour of self-organising systems in natural and artificial ecosystems, as well as to study evolutionary processes. By analysing biosemiotics and fractal patterns in living systems, researchers can gain insight into the ways in which organisms interact with each other, their environment, and the physical universe. The application of these concepts can also be seen in the development of technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, which have the potential to bring about revolutionary changes in the world.
