Porous Materials

Porous materials are materials that have microscopic pores (very small openings) embedded in their structure. These pores can be filled with a variety of substances, ranging from liquids to gases to solids, which can be used for various purposes such as thermal insulation, filtration, and energy storage. Porous materials are important for a variety of industrial, medical, and consumer applications, as they offer both increased strength and reduced weight compared to non-porous materials. Additionally, their porous nature can also be used to improve the effectiveness of various applications. For example, in the medical field, porous materials have been known to improve the absorption of drugs and other treatments in the body, and in electronics, they can be used to improve the efficiency of heat transfer.
