Polymeric Materials
Polymeric materials are a group of materials composed of molecules called monomers that are linked together to form larger molecules known as polymers. Polymeric materials are of great importance in industries such as automotive, aerospace, biomedical, and electronics. One of the most significant characteristics of polymeric materials is their ability to be tailored to meet specific application requirements. This allows for the design of materials with unique physical, thermal, and chemical characteristics. Polymeric materials offer enhanced strength, durability, and stiffness while being lightweight. They are also resistant to wear-and-tear, impact damage, and moisture. They are also capable of providing superior electrical and thermal insulation, as well as flame resistance. Finally, polymeric materials have superior resistance to weathering, corrosive environments, and ultraviolet radiation.
