Nanomaterials

Nanomaterials are materials whose size is in the range of 1 to 100 nanometers. They are of critical importance to technology and science, due to their increased surface area, chemical reactivity, and mechanical properties when compared to bulk materials. Nanomaterials have a wide range of uses, such as in the production of materials with enhanced strength and longevity, cancer treatments, and in chemical and biomolecular sensing. They have been used in the production of solar cells and batteries, as catalysts in chemical production, and as components of medical diagnostic devices. They are also being explored as a potential platform for drug delivery, due to their ability to carry and transport drugs to specific parts of the body.
